Some FAQs over here in case you're a first timer in AO3 exchanges!

1. Why is this exchange called the MitsuNaru Day exchange? What is the difference between this and NaruMitsu?
MitsuNaru Day falls on March 7 and March 27 due to the Japanese number puns on our favourite two lawyers' Japanese names Mitsurugi Reiji (Miles Edgeworth) and Naruhodou Ryuuichi (Phoenix Wright) - 327(6). Hence we decided to dedicate the exchange to this pairing with the work reveals on March 27.

The order of the naming in the ship name is due to the dynamic of Miles Edgeworth being the top and Phoenix Wright as the bottom in their sexual relationship, with Narumitsu being the vice versa. But with that being said, I still welcome Narumitsu works here, do take note that this is only when your recipient has clearly stated that they're okay with it, if not it should be assumed that the request is only for MitsuNaru (Top Miles Edgeworth & Bottom Phoenix Wright).

2. What is tag nominations and why do we need to nominate our tags?
Nominations help AO3 match people by giving it a “dictionary” of all the topics that can be used for matching. If you request “weddings” and I offer “a wedding”, then AO3 doesn’t know that these are the same topic. But if we both have to pick from a list of topics, then AO3 will know that we can be matched.

The goal here is not to restrict anyone’s creativity, simply to help AO3 understand when people are requesting/offering the same thing. I will not judge any tags, only make edits to wording and spelling.

Do take note that contributing to the tag nominations doesn't mean you have to take part in the exchange after that. You can still nominate any of your favourite tags even if you're not planning on signing up so that we can have more prompts and tag choices in our upcoming works. There's a good chance you get to see awesome works based on your favourite tags that you nominated into the exchange!

3. Do I need to have a valid AO3 account for the exchange?
Yes, you'll need an AO3 account with a validated email address in order to participate in this exchange.

4. How do offers and matching works? What if my offer doesn't match any requests?
As mentioned in the rules, you must submit 1 offer during your sign-up, and you must offer at least one medium and four additional tags and also use the ratings (T or E) to indicate if you are willing to create a gift containing smut.

Matching will be on one medium, one freeform tag, and one rating.

Please try to make sure your offer matches at least one request. When sign-ups close, if no requests match your offers, I will then contact you to see if you can offer anything else, and you will have twenty-four hours to reply. If you do not reply within twenty-four hours, or there is nothing else you can offer, your signup will be deleted.

5. Must I request for M or E rated works? Can I ask to receive or create a non-smutty fic/art work?
Requests/offers do not have to be E-rated or NSFW. Go ahead and ask for a soft and fluffy romantic love story between Miles and Phoenix, or a fun and hilarious but innocent date between our 2 gay lawyers, or just a day of family outing with our 2 daddies and Trucy if that's what you want to receive or create! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
All you need to do was choose your rating in your request/offer and describe clearly what you want in the 'Description' box

6. I see multiple requests and multiple tags within each request from my recipient. Do I have to submit more than 1 works to fulfill all requests and include all tags?
Don't panic! Because no, you do not have to submit multiple works to fulfill all requests! You just need to submit one work based on any one of the recipient's request, and you do not have to include every tags, just one or few of them will be sufficient

7. What is a treat?
A treat is an extra gift created for a participant who is not your assigned recipient. You can treat regardless of whether you have signed up to the exchange. There are no minimum requirements for treats, but they still need to follow the recipient's requested medium and ratings, and to include at least one requested freeform tag, and respect their DNWs.

8. What is a pinch hit?
A pinch hit is where someone decided to default their assignment, which then the assignment will be released as a pinch hit in the exchange. Pinch hits will be posted to the dreamwidth community blog, and if you're willing to pick up and complete the pinch hit within a stipulated deadline, you can either:-
  • comment to the dreamwidth post. Don't worry, comments are screened for anonymity and you do not need to have a dreamwidth account to comment to the post
  • contact me directly your interest through the email or discord

You may want to take note that pinch hits can also be picked up even by non-participants of the exchange (i.e. those who didn't sign up for the exchange)

9. Any chance I should give some hints to my recipient on who is their creator for their gifts, whether was it done by myself or not?
No. Do try to avoid specific details on the works you created and maintain anonymity till the creator reveals. Don't spoil the fun and surprise!

10. Anything else I should take note?
At this point, I have nothing else to further share except:-
  • Be kind and respectful to your recipient and their requests. Don't forget, we're all here to contribute to the fandom as fellow MitsuNaru fans who love our two gay lawyers
  • Aim to have fun with fellow fans when you sign up!
  • Still have more burning questions? Feel free to find me anytime through email or discord if you need any clarifications!
